My daughter signed a lease on a Sunday last month thru a 3rd party for the lanlord. She moved her family in?

December 4th, 2007 by

and I'm lending her the money for the rent. I tried the numbers she gave me and they were all wrong( one was a fax, the other had a generic answering machine, etc) She called the 3rd party which gave her the right number and she called and spoke with him but nothing much was said. I found his name and multible addresses on the internet.

can I verify before I send the check before the 15th, that he is actually the lanlord when my daughter has never met him? She said his name is on the lease but I'm still leary of how he can identify himself as the owner of the property.

Look up the owner of record on the property appraisers site.

check the address given where the tax bill is sent to be sure that co-insides with the address to where you are to send the check.

your daughter not pay at least first month's rent when she moved in? To whom did she make the check payable? Did she get a receipt? After all of this if you are still not sure call the “owner” and ask him to fax you a copy of the warranty deed proving ownership of the subject property.
