Asif Charges dropped??..But?

June 19th, 2008 by

I have just read this article in yahoo sports. It claims Mohammad Asif's charges have been dropped BUT-He has admitted it was his and says he used the substance for POWER ENHANCEMENT.

do you think will happen to him now? Do you think he should be struck off Pakistan's players list for life?? What do you think of Asif's statement-I used it for Power??. It is definite that he committed the crime of smuggling and possessing 0.24 grams of opium as he was caught red-handed however in certain cases and for a faster litigation process the public prosecution drops a case due to insignificance and deports the suspect -When Asif was confronted with the findings (results of the forensic lab), the cricketer claimed that he was unaware that it was a drug and alleged that he used the substance for power enhancement,” Rustam was quoted as saying.

Federal Investigation Authority in Pakistan had said they will deal with Asif under their rules and regulations, while the PCB also announced it will hold a separate inquiry against the paceman. au.sports.yahoo.com How many times does a player have to be caught with somwthing before he is sacked?..I know if it was ANY other team, that player would have been kicked to the curb the First time.

this is the first time i have EVER heard of opium being used to 'enhance power'.What a joke, does he think people have no brains?.Some may believe his little story but i think it is a joke.

Why doesn't this surprise me? They look after their own in that part of the world but woe betide any European who gets caught with drugs.I hope Paki have the guts to make an example of him, but I guess they wont.
