Graphics Cards on an airplane(X-Ray?

June 17th, 2008 by

Has anyone ever taken a graphics card through the scanners and the plane? I want to take a graphics card home with me, but I don't want them making a big deal and taking it out of my bag and examining it and such. Do they take out computer parts, such as motherboards, graphics cards, and processors for inspection because they're like electronics, or would they let them through without issues? Thanks!

Hey all Computer Savvy persons, I need your advice with a TV Tuner Card?

December 1st, 2007 by

So it sounds great to me, and I'm not inept when it comes to computer, but as far as this card goes- I need to make sure of sever things, and heres the link: www.amazon.com I want to know if I can plug in DVD/ Xbox 360 devices into my computer via this card, AND how it will recieve TV, so that I have a better understanding of whether or not it will work. I cannot plug this into a TV cable in any way given that this computer is downstairs, and my only access is upstairs. Is this the product I am looking for?

how much have asians contributed the world?

November 30th, 2007 by

Hello :D I was wondering, how much have asians contributed to modern day society compared with white europeans in terms of arts, math, science, technology et cetera? Not including ancient inventions because that is irrelivant.

I think about it, almost everything that we use today seems to have been developed by white europeans, or the white european ethnicity in America and other white majority countries.

like aircraft, Military stuff, (guns/missiles/radar/nukes), computers, transportation, telecomunications, electronics, technology in general. I say again I don't want to hear about how “asians invented gun powder blah blah, you wouldnt have guns, asians invented some crappy waterwheel back in 500 AD and without that technology you wouldn't have irrigation or something like that. (I made up the bit about irrigation but you get the point) All I can think of that asians have contributed is massivly to the world economy because of trade and manufacturing, or creating their o creating their own companies like samsung, sony, toyota and more, that produce mobile phones, (technology developed by white people), TVs and electronics, (technology developed by white people), and cars, (transportation technology developed by white people) Please don't yell at me for being racist, I honestly don't know how much they have contributed.

correct any incorect statements I have made, but stay calm. Also, one questions I have if I may attach it to my main, What Language does the word “dinosaur” come from? (totaly unrelated), I know it means “big lizzard” or something like that but what language is it in? pawdog, I didnt say that things were developed by “America” or countries in europe, i said that they were invented by people of white european ethnicity, which encompases all white european peope everywhere.

What is that humming noise you hear when some electronics are turned on?

November 27th, 2007 by

I don't mean the whirr of a computer fan or that sort of grinding sound of a computer operating; more like a tv w/o the cable turned on or computer monitor w/o the computer.an almost imperceptible hum in the air.
