'Romance' is from 'Roman' which was Latin. Romanian is a Romance language, too, I think. But it is derived from Latin. :33

But .. aren't French, Spanish & Italian the three ROMANCE languages? D: I was told that the Romance part is because they came from Romania or something ... . _ .

satoire (December 30th, 2008 @ 3:24 pm)
he did... at 00 : 30 he said some english words but they were hard to understood... I get it as I heard it the second time...
NyappyAgito (December 25th, 2008 @ 5:34 pm)
Yeah, just the way the words in their language are formed in segments of two. For example, for the word cup to be romanized, it would have to be "Ka-ppu" and throwing would be "Su-ro-ri-n-gu.". It's not like Italian or French people trying to learn English, where their language is actually similar to it. (because they were all derived from the Romanian language somehow)
