Oopsbuntu: update BUG. My install is going strange

First let me tell you an old joke fron the linux comunnity. Bill, steve and linus are in a toilet. After bill did, what he had to do there, he washes both of his hands, Steve follows, and washes only his left hand. Then its linus turn, he pisses in the toilet and leaves the room without washing his hands. Bill and steve loolok amazed at linus and linus says ÿeah, we guys at linux, we never piss over our hands. For years we had to hear, that linux is stable, never crashes, and has no virusses, right? Now lets take the blue pill and enter reallity. i dont know whats going one here, maybe you can help me. Im new to ubuntu and linux, and therefore isnstalled the stable 8.04 version wich is also available as the family pack, Well its getting less and less family. Stil very enyoyable experiment. oh and by the way, a lot of linux distros already incorporate viruskillers in theire software,,,
