Knowing the basic of Color

Colors symbolize moods, character, behavior and emotions. Thus, colors can be an influential tool to draw out touching response from the viewer. If you choose colors accurately and use it purposely, it can persuade the audience perception and choice of a product, company or service.
Careful considerations are necessary to arrive at your choice of color selection. One flaw and it will topple your business objectives. You must be aware that colors have meaning. Red stands for passion, fire, love, energy and danger. Green is for money, growth, fertility, healing and freshness. Dark blue is oftentimes used as a corporate color since it is best for corporate business. Yellow is for happiness and creativity. Orange is for determination and success. Both of them are used by major fast food restaurants because they are warm colors that elicit a hunger response. When you know the right color to choose it makes sense to use them!
Even in the graphic design interface, colors are also of the essence. There are three main color models used. They are the CMYK, RGB and Pantone.
CMYK is short for cyan, magenta, yellow and black, the other term for it is four-color process. It is a model used for printed materials. The four colors combined and layered on the paper allow the creation of all other colors. An item can use all or part of the colors moreover, the more colors you use, the more expensive printing will entail.
RGB is short for Red, Green and Blue. This is the model used on your computer monitor or television. Since the design is not to be printed, you can use as many colors as you please. There is no cost drawback on the use of color for the web. Before, the use of colors was limited to web safe colors for web site designs. The limitations were brought about by borders of the previous technology. At present, we do not have this limitation. We can use all colors in full range.
Pantone colors are used when you want an exact color match for your printing needs. It is usually used in the design for logos, brochures, business cards, letterheads and corporate identity. To ensure that the color looks exactly as you want it to be, have it printed using a Pantone color. This is otherwise referred to as spot color. Spot color printing is costly compared to the other color models but if you are looking for consistency throughout your materials, it is best to use it. A limitation though, of Pantone color is the availability of paper that is compatible with the type of ink required. Ask guidance from your printer so that you can get the best out of your printing needs.
The rules of color psychology apply to everything under the sun and good design will use the best colors to elicit a desirable reaction!
